Royal AM have NOT played any competitive football since the start of 2025 with their last match coming on 29 December 2024.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has indefinitely postponed ALL Royal AM matches, according to a statement released by the league.

This means Thursday’s Betway Premiership fixture between Royal AM and Orlando Pirates will NOT go ahead.

Furthermore, Royal AM, at least as things stand, will not take part in the Nedbank Cup. They are scheduled to take on Mildford FC on Monday, 27 January.

In the statement, the PSL said the decision to suspend Royal AM’s matches indefinitely is because the club couldn’t guarantee them that they would honour their fixtures under the current curatorship.

Nonetheless, the PSL will give Royal AM another opportunity to make representations on Friday, 24 January at 11AM.

PSL MAKE BOLD ROYAL AM DECISION – FULL STATEMENT

  1. On 9 January 2025 Royal AM FC informed the League that it could not meet its commitments in respect of its match against Chippa United FC on 11 January 2025 due to difficulties arising from the appointment of a Curator.
  2. The Executive Committee (ExCo) has since convened three separate meetings to establish whether the club, under curatorship, will be able to meet its fixture commitments in a compliant fashion.
  3. On 17 January 2025 ExCo were assured that a joint letter of comfort (from club management and the Curator) would be provided confirming that the issues that had arisen had been resolved.
  4. No such letter of comfort has been forthcoming and ExCo has been left with no alternative but to cancel PSL Fixture 106 – Royal AM vs Orlando Pirates Harry Gwala Stadium at 19h30 – and to suspend all other Royal AM fixtures (Betway Premiership and Nedbank Cup) until further notice.
