Benched Kaizer Chiefs star: ‘We are all in it together’
Fighting talk.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart is fully behind his teammates despite a recent bench role for the Glamour Boys.
Maart is no longer first choice
29-year-old Yusuf Maart is adjusting to a bit-part role this season. New signing Thabo Cele and youngster Samkelo Zwane are currently ahead of the former Sekhukhune man in the central midfield pecking order. Still, Maart has clocked up 24 appearances across all competitions. Maart is happy to support whichever central midfield colleagues are picked in the side ahead of him:
“Everyone in the squad wants to play but we are all committed to what the coach decides, so you also have to be happy for the person who gets selected,” he told the club’s website.
“That’s how football is, because it is a team game, and we are all in it together.”

City will pose a huge test to Kaizer Chiefs
Maart isn’t underestimating the challenge posed by their next opponents and visitors to FNB Stadium, Cape Town City. Chiefs meet City on Wednesday 12 March at 19:30.
“It’s not easy to prepare for a team like City because they can play different styles of football, but we do know they like to run,” he said.
“For us, as a team, it is more about executing the coach’s instructions on how we should play.”
Amakhosi plan squad overhaul
According to SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs will make massive changes to their playing personnel at the end of the campaign. They’re reportedly planning a swoop for 24-year-old Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux. However, that’s just one of the matters on their agenda. They’re currently looking to fish in different waters to find their targets and avoid tough competition for marquee players.

Will Chiefs pick up three precious points?
