All the details: Kaizer Chiefs announce three new signings
Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of three new players, and here are the details on the new squad additions and contract lengths.

On Monday, Kaizer Chiefs announced a further addition to their squad with the acquisition of experienced midfielder, Thabo Cele, which came just after confirming they had boosted their attacking options with the signing of Congolese international, Glody Makabi Lilepo from French club Valenciennes FC.
This was followed up by the addition of Tashreeq Morris as one of their further signings of the January transfer window. Morris, who previously played for SuperSport United, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at Chiefs until 30 June 2027. This move is part of a strategic swap deal, which will see striker Christian Saile head the other way.
Meanwhile, with 11 international caps for his national team, Lilepo has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal, which also includes an option for a further season.
28-year-old Cele has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Amakhosi, which includes an option for an additional year.
KAIZER CHIEFS HAVE MADE SOME BIG MOVES IN THE TRANSFER MARKET
Lilepo plays primarily as a goal scoring right winger, having played 16 matches for Valenciennes in France this season, scoring four goals and making two assists.
Before moving to France, he previously played for Al Hilal in Sudan and AS Vita in his homeland. He also carries a wealth of experience in the CAF Championships League where he represented Al Hilal and AS Vita. He managed to score eight goals in 16 matches for Al Hilal in Africa’s most prestigious club competition.
Welcoming the forward to the club, Chiefs’ Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. said, “We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of a player with his experience and wish him all the best. We’ll do our utmost to help him settle in quickly and look forward to seeing him in action soon.”
He will be eligible to join the team once his work permit is approved by the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, Cele left South Africa in 2016 to pursue a career overseas, where he played for Real SC, Benfica, and Cova Piedade in Portugal between 2016 and 2019. He subsequently moved to Poland to play for Radomiak, and his most recent contract was with the Russian side, Fakel Voronezh.
With a wealth of international experience, Cele has also represented South Africa at various junior levels, including U20 and U23, in addition to earning caps for the senior team, Bafana Bafana.
“It’s been a long time coming for Thabo, and we are both glad that he’s finally here,” stated Motaung Jr., “We know his quality and we are looking forward to his contribution to the squad as we continue to build.”
Morris has previously showcased his talent at Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City, Sekhukhune United, and SuperSport United. He has successfully undergone his medical assessments and is set to join the team for training next week.
“We would like to welcome Tashreeq to the Amakhosi family and look forward to his contributions in the upcoming matches,” Motaung Jr added. “He is an experienced striker who came highly recommended by coach Nabi and his technical team after their assessment. We wish him all the best in the Gold & Black colours while here with us.”
