Pitso Mosimane has hinted at a contract extension with Esteghlal as Kaizer Chiefs continue to monitor his progress abroad.

Pitso Mosimane started shakily but steadied the ship

Pitso Mosimane took charge of Esteghlal in October and immediately tasted three defeats on the bounce. However, now he’s settled in and posted a sequence of six matches unbeaten. Jingles has confirmed he’s been approached over a contract extension:

Via iDiski Times:

“I have spoken to the club’s CEO, and he is willing to extend my contract,” he said at his post-match press conference.

“I am here and I would like to stay in Iran, but there is no contract on the table at the moment and whenever my contract is ready, I will make my decision quickly.

“Esteghlal deserved a better situation. The team’s situation has improved and the players are working hard. I have no problem staying in Iran and I have no problem with the Iranian style of play.

“I think more about football and if the conditions are good, I will have no problem. Some people said that the conditions in Iran are not good and did not recommend me to come, but I love Iran.”

Esteghlal want to keep Jingles

Esteghlal CEO Farshid Samiei is keen to extend Pitso’s current deal. Talks have been opened.

“I spoke with Mosimane last week and he expressed his desire to stay,” he told Varzesh3.

“The games are intense and we haven’t been able to talk properly yet. We will hold a meeting next week and talk to him about making the extension.”

Nabi wants a Christmas present for Kaizer Chiefs

Nasreddine Nabi via The Citizen:

“It is true that we feel up top, we have the same kind of players, who like to dribble and play in short spaces. But we lack a bit of power,” Nabi told SuperSport TV.

“(We lack) players who can shoot and make decisions and we need to get those kinds of players in the future.

“(We need) a level for Kaizer Chiefs. It feels like the perfect gift for Christmas will be players who can strengthen the team. But we will (also) do everything we can with what we have to get better results.”
