Gavin Hunt has named his traveling Kaizer Chiefs squad to face PWD Bamenda in their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash on Sunday.

Kaizer Chiefs face defending Cameroonian Champions PWD Bamenda on Sunday in Limbe. The Amakhosi return to Africa’s premier club competition after a four year absence.

The last time the Amakhosi competed in the CAF Champions was back in 2016 under Steve Komphela. The Glamour Boys were eliminated by Ivory Coast giants Asec Mimosas in the first round.

Kaizer Chiefs have picked up just five points from their opening five league games this season and many have wondered whether the Amakhosi will also compete in Africa given their lack of squad depth and disaster start to the season back home.

Gavin Hunt’s traveling squad however suggests that the Amakhosi will most definitely be taking the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League seriously.

Amakhosi squad in full

  • Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Daniel Akpeyi
  • Defenders: Rama Mphahlele, Yagan Sasman, Eric Mathoho, Kgosto Moleko, Daniel Cardoso, Siyanbonga Ngezana, Darrel Matsheke
