South Africa’s women national team Banyana Banyana are the best team in Africa. The ladies clinched WAFCON glory on Saturday against Morocco.
Big win, big history. Banyana Banyana made Mzansi proud on Saturday night after beating Morocco 2-1 to become WAFCON champions for the first time.

As The South African website reported on Saturday evening, the ladies lifted the biggest prize in African women’s football, thanks to a brace from Hilda Magaia at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat, Morocco.
As expected, the Banyana triumph dominated social media, not just in Mzansi but in Africa and the world.
The ladies finally clinched gold after five silver medals in previous WAFCON tournaments!

MZANSI REACTS TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
We have found a few tweets that caught the eye, where many local citizens could not help but take a jibe at the men’s team Bafana Bafana.
“I am going to repeat this again, even if I will be hated for it: Banyana plays way better than Bafana Bafana and Pirates!” said @PuleMatlho.
“Truth be told, right now #BanyanaBanyana are playing better football than Bafana Bafana yet they are still underpaid, undermined, and overlooked by sponsors,” @IamMzilikazi said.
@soso_spayi added: “I still can’t believe Bafana Bafana players earn more than Banyana. These girls play way better than those bunch of losers.”
