Bafana Bafana have slipped two spots in the latest FIFA rankings which were released on Friday, 19 September.

During the period since the previous rankings were announced, Bafana Bafana played two 2025 Africa Cup of Natons (Afcon) qualifiers, drawing 2-2 against Uganda and beating South Sudan 3-2.

The latest FIFA rankings show that Bafana Bafana have dropped out of the Top 10 countries in Africa and now lie 11th.

In terms of the overall rankings, South Africa now sit 59th, down from their 57th place in the most recent rankings in July.

Argentina ranked No 1 in the world

In terms of Africa, Morocco remain the top-ranked nation on the continent, with Senegal, Egypt, Ivory Coast and Tunisia rounding out the top five.

Meanwhile, Argentina remain the No 1 country in the world, followed by France, Spain, England and Brazil.

Bafana Bafana will next be in action in back-to-back 2025 Afcon Group K qualifiers against Congo at home on 7 October and then away on 15 October.

Kick-off times for both matches have yet to be confirmed.

Congo are ranked a lowly 117th in the world.
