Confirmed: When Springboks name team to face Wales

Rassie Erasmus will be naming his final Springboks side of the year very early this week. Here’s when – confirmed.

Rassie Erasmus has decided to name the Springboks side to take on Wales a bit earlier this week.

The Springboks and Rassie have been leaving their team announcements for late in the week.

They named their side to take on Scotland on a Friday. Although, the test match was on a Sunday) Thereafter, the Boks announced their side to take on England on Thursday. However, this week Rassie and the Springboks will announce their final team of the year a lot earlier on in the week.

SPRINGBOK SIDE TO BE ANNOUNCED ON TUESDAY

Rassie will announce the final 23-man Springbok side of the 2024 rugby season on Tuesday, 19 November 2024.

They will announce the side at around 16:30 (SA time) on Tuesday.

Moreover, Rassie is expected to give an opportunity to a couple of fringe players given the position the Springboks and SA Rugby are currently in. South Africa hold the number one spot in the world in the latest rugby World Rankings. Moreover, they have arguably the most depth in World Rugby.

Therefore, you can expect a couple of promising youngsters to be given a rare opportunity in the green and gold.

CAMERON HANEKOM DEBUT ON THE CARDS?

Bulls eighth man Cameron Hanekom earned his call-up to the Springboks end of year squad. However, he has not had a chance to feature for the Boks on tour yet.

In fact, the bullocking, elusive and explosive Bulls forward is yet to make his Springboks debut.

However, there is a good chance that this could change when the Springboks take on Wales on 23 November 2024 in Cardiff.
