RESULT: Sharks crowned 2024 Currie Cup champions

The Sharks were crowned 2024 Currie Cup champions when they edged the Lions in the final at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

The Sharks won 16-14 after the match was scoreless at half-time.

The clash was played in cold and wet conditions.

Fullback Jordan Hendrikse landed a penalty from around 59m in extra-time to give the Durbanites victory.

The Lions last tasted Currie Cup success in 2015 while the Sharks’ most recent triumph came in 2018.
