BREAKING: Louis Meintjes crashes out of Tour de France

South Africa’s lone rider in this year’s edition of the Tour de France, Louis Meintjes, crashed out of the race on Saturday.

Meintjes, 31, riding for the Intermarché-Circus-Wanty team, was in 13th place in the general classification heading into Saturday’s Stage 14.

Unconfirmed reports suggest Meintjes broke his collarbone in a fall shortly after the start.
