Dale Steyn shares special message with Rabada

From one legend to another: Dale Steyn has acknowledged Kagiso Rabada’s historic achievement as he reached 300 Test wickets.

One of the highlights from the Proteas’ opening Test against Bangladesh was the moment Kagiso Rabada memorably reached the 300 Test wicket mark, becoming the fastest to do so in terms of balls bowled (beating out the likes of Waqar Younis – 12,602 – and Dale Steyn – 12,605).

A stunning delivery saw him clean bowl Mushfiqur Rahim, with the 29-year-old increasing cementing himself as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of the game.

As tributes poured in for Rabada, Steyn took to social media to tip his hat to his successor.

“300 and in record time! KG, your stamp in history is marked, what a incredible achievement, we’re blessed to have you. Congratulations young Sir!”

During the day’s play, CSA also posted a special message to Rabada, stating: “Congratulations to Kagiso Rabada on reaching a monumental milestone, delivered at 13.5 overs in today’s Test against Bangladesh! Your dedication to the craft and game-changing pace continues to inspire the nation.”
