Zuma to use 2016 to find out what a hashtag is
CAPE TOWN (In Other News) – South African president Jacob Zuma has committed himself to finding out what a hashtag is. The presidential search forms part of an aggressive set of New Year’s resolutions aimed at bringing the president “up to date” with social media.

“We noticed the symbol on keyboards and a number of posters during last year’s protests,” said a top aide adding further investigation revealed it was somehow linked to the internet.
The president’s office will embark on a thorough process of elimination to figure out what it all means. Committees have already been set up in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo. A special task force has also been deployed to interview students, but progress is slow.
“Young people we’ve approached are keeping mum,” said the aide.
The president’s office threatened to declare a national emergency if they haven’t figured out what a hashtag is by the end of January and called on the public to come forward with information.
“The president’s New Year’s resolutions is a top priority,” said a government spokesman.
“It’s a matter of national security.”
