A 20 year-old woman from Pietermaritzburg has been arrested by the Hawks for trying to sell her 19 month-old baby on Gumtree, seriously?
The 55-year-old woman stole over R 1.6 million over a three-year period.
The Hawks used an undercover agent to catch the 20 year-old, who advertised her child on Gumtree for R5000, the Hawks said.
Thankfully, the baby is now in the care of a social worker and they got the cash back too. The woman will be charged with human trafficking and Gumtree’s role in this is also being investigated.
