FOREVER WARS – Part seven: Syria

In December 2018, and again in February 2019, Donald Trump bragged about how he defeated 100% of ISIS in Syria. He obviously didn’t do a great job because, in December last year, ISIS and al-Qaeda just repackaged themselves, bounced back, invaded Syria and deposed Assad.

And, as we speak, al-Jolani’s HTS jihadists are ethnically cleansing Christians, Alawites and Druze in a killing spree.

IS SYRIA SLIDING INTO ANOTHER CIVIL WAR?

The past week has seen horrific images going viral online of the 6th country on General Wesley Clarke’s memo, Syria, experiencing a week of the worst sectarian and ethnic violence since the start of the civil war in 2012.

Just when Syria was close to something resembling peace and normalcy. The decades-long project by the US, NATO and Israel to take control of Syria has finally succeeded, through their terrorist proxies.

WHEN AQ WERE TERRORISTS

Let’s try a little time-travel thought experiment.

Imagine that you could teleport yourself back to late afternoon in New York City, on 11 September 2001, just hours after the third tower collapsed.

Imagine finding the family who had just lost loved ones in the WTC terrorist attacks, and telling them; “Guess what? About 10-12 years into the future…your US government, along with NATO and Israel, will be arming, funding and supporting the very Al-Qaeda terrorists who attacked your country and killed your family today.”

What do you think their response would be? That’s right, they would probably dismiss you as a sick, twisted, conspiracy theorist.

Yet, that happened.

WHEN ISIS WERE TERRORISTS

Now let’s time-jump forward from 9/11 to around mid-September 2014 in the US, when ISIS was terrorising the Middle East. Imagine walking right up to the mothers of journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff, who were both beheaded by ISIS that year, and telling the moms that the very same jihadists who just decapitated their sons were also armed, funded and supported by the US, NATO and Israel.

Think they’d believe you? Unlikely.

Yet, that too happened.

So, how did we get here…?

AGAIN, IT BEGAN WITH THE ARAB ‘SPRING‘

In 2011, the “Arab Spring” spread to Syria, and, as with other countries, morphed into a bloody civil war by mid-2012.

From the outset of the widespread revolution, as they did with Gaddafi, the US and their Western NATO allies used the momentum of the movement and the opportunity to demonise Assad by declaring him an illegitimate leader, calling for him to step down.

However, that strategy didn’t wash with the majority of the Syrian people who supported Assad to the hilt.

OBAMA ORDERS OP SYCAMORE

In late 2012, US President Barack Obama signed the order for Operation Timber Sycamore – a clandestine, CIA-coordinated, regime-change operation aimed at overthrowing the Assad government.

Economist and Political analyst, Prof. Jeff Sachs described Sycamore as: “A billion-dollar CIA covert program that funded, trained, and provided intelligence to radical and extreme Islamist groups.”

Around the same time, Isis began to rise.

Back then, Obama was telling us “Isis is a brutal, vicious death cult”.

(Well…then I guess he shouldn’t have funded and armed them.)

‘INHERENT RESOLVE‘

In August 2013, the US/UK contemplated airstrikes against Syria, but Congress and the UK parliament voted against it. President Obama went ahead and did it anyway.

On 10 September 2014, the eve of the 13th anniversary of 9/11, he authorised airstrikes against ISIS militants. The US officially intervened in the Syrian civil war with the “stated aim of crushing ISIS”, with Operation Inherent Resolve.

So, in case there was any doubt, clearly ISIS was the major enemy of the West back then, right?

Then came a bombshell report from a brave young reporter – who paid with her life for releasing it.

THE SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF SERENA SHIM

In October 2014, Jordanian-born US journalist Serena Shim was in the Syria-Turkey border town of Kobani, covering the clash between Daesh (ISIS) and the Kurds for Iran’s Press TV.

She reported that Turkey was, unbelievably, allowing ISIS fighters to be smuggled into Syria in food aid trucks bearing logos of the World Food Programme and other NGOs.

Yes, you read that right. Turkey, a NATO ally, was supporting ISIS back in 2014…when ISIS was terrorising the world.

Within hours of her broadcasting that inconvenient truth, Shim and her camerawoman were approached by Turkish Intelligence agents (MIT), who accused Serena of espionage and ordered her to get the hell out of Turkey.

NO INVESTIGATION BY TURKEY OR USA

Two days later, in Turkey’s Sanliurfa province, Shim was killed in a suspicious vehicle accident, when she and her camerawoman were involved in a head-on collision with a cement mixer truck. There were no eyewitnesses and the driver “fled the scene.”

According to the Turkish Doğan News Agency, the driver of the heavy vehicle was subsequently arrested. Shim’s employer, Press TV, disputed this, alleging that both driver and vehicle had “disappeared”. Reportedly, Shim’s parents refused to believe the crash had been an accident.

Neither the Turkish nor the US governments were interested in pursuing the investigation.

EXPOSED: NATO COUNTRIES CREATED AND SUPPORTED ISIS

Since the death of Shim, we’ve seen one credible report after another revealing that NATO member Turkey has been supporting ISIS. We know this because it’s been well-documented in the Turkish court systems where Turkey has gagged, persecuted, prosecuted and jailed or murdered dozens if not hundreds of their own journalists for reporting on this – and other inconvenient truths.

In the aftermath of the Isis terror attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015, political journalist, Gearóid Ó Colmáin stated in an interview that ISIS is the creation of the US. “Al-Qaeda and ISIS, to name a few, are created, co-ordinated, funded and armed by CIA, Mossad and NATO intelligence”, he said.

“It has nothing to do with Islam” Ó Colmáin insisted. “These terrorists are nothing but young patsies, created by the wars, and then recruited by the West with help from their allies, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.” He added, “The West has harnessed vengeful, radical, extremists and turned them into a Wahabi death cult.”

Several other journalists and whistle-blowers, including Assange and Ben Swann, also released reports that implicated the US and their allies in funding and arming extremists like AQ and ISIS. Iran accused the US of the same thing.

TRUMP’S TURN TO BOMB SYRIA – AND AID ISIS

Back when Obama was doing it, Donald Trump tweeted several times in protest against bombing Syria. But, he soon changed his tune after he came to power, and bombed Syria – twice. Both times illegally under international law.

Yet, despite all that supposed opposition by the US/NATO/Israel alliance, ISIS still thrived and ran rampant in the Middle East, killing their own people – Arabs, while at the same time going nowhere near their supposed biggest enemy in the region: Israel.

Strange, huh..?

Like Galloway says, “Not so much as a broken Israeli window by Isis.” On the contrary, we saw reports surfacing of wounded extremist combatants being treated in Israeli military hospitals.

In fact, it seems more like the US has been going out of its way to sabotage attempts by Russia, Syria and Iran to defeat Isis. Like the time the US assassinated Iran’s top terrorist killer, General Qasem Soleimani.

Think about that for a second; if ISIS is public enemy number 1, as Obama told us they were, why the hell would the US want to take out the ONE guy who’s doing an excellent job of eliminating ISIS terrorists? (As if some of us didn’t know…)

It was only after Russia got involved in supporting the Assad regime that the Jihadists were defeated (which Trump then tried to take credit for). The war which saw more than 200 000 people killed and 6 million displaced began to wind down.

Then Isis went to ground and, for a while, practically disappeared off the map and out of the Western media.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ISIS?

So…where did they go?

Well, we know many of them definitely ended up in Mozambique. (Where all that newly-discovered natural gas is located.)

And then, in early December last year, they resurged and took Syria by storm.

Even though HTS leader, Abu Mohammed al-Jolani (aka Ahmed al-Sharaa) had a $10 million (R183 million) bounty on his head by the US, and his organisation was deemed terrorists by the West, the US/NATO & Israel backed Jolani and his terror group in overthrowing the Syrian regime. And lifted the bounty.

After HTS seized Syria last December, Prof. Jeff Sachs and Sybil Fares released an article a few days afterwards, where they wrote: “The fall of Syria is the culmination of the Israel-U.S. campaign against Syria that goes back to 1996 with Netanyahu’s arrival to office as Prime Minister.

That effort finally came to “fruition” this week, after more than 300,000 deaths in the Syrian war since 2011.”

WILL THE CIVIL WAR RETURN?

Then, over the past week, reports and videos surfaced online of Christians, Alawites and Druze, including women and children, being massacred by Jolani’s jihadists. The response from Western MSM was to blame the victims, dismissing them as merely “pro-Assad forces.”

According to HTS, as of this week, their “purification” crackdown has ended, leaving more than a thousand dead and hundreds injured. However, some analysts predict this could be the beginning of another phase in Syria’s civil war.

Just another Middle-Eastern sovereign state destroyed by the US/NATO/Israel axis of evil…in the endless genocidal Global War “on Terror”.

Only one more country on General Clarke’s memo remains…
