Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in Gauteng starting next week, according to the South African Weather Service.

Temperatures are predicted to drop to the mid to low 20s from Tuesday onwards, with a 70% chance of rain, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday. This week, Gauteng has experienced relatively warm weather, with thunderstorms occurring in the evenings.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the SA Weather Service issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for several provinces. Heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning, and hail are anticipated over Gauteng, the extreme eastern parts of North West, the Mpumalanga Highveld, and the southern regions of Limpopo.

Gauteng to experience thunderstorms in the coming days

This weekend, Johannesburg and Pretoria can expect pleasant, mostly sunny weather. Although there will be some clouds and a low chance of rain, it will remain warm, with temperatures reaching around 30°C in some areas on Saturday and Sunday.

Over the next seven days, most parts of the country will experience a mix of warm and cool temperatures. However, temperatures in Gauteng are expected to change significantly by Tuesday, with thunderstorms predicted throughout the week.
