Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Matlou became a trending topic on social media after he attempted to substitute himself into the match on Tuesday.
Amakhosi secured their eighth league victory of the season with a 69th-minute goal from Ashley Du Preez, defeating Magesi FC 1-0 at the FNB Stadium. This win brought Chiefs to a total of 28 points, although they remain in eighth place in the Betway Premiership table.

During the match, as it neared its conclusion, coach Nasreddine Nabi made three substitutions. Matlou, Dillan Solomons, and Mduduzi Shabalala were all called to come off the bench. While the fourth official was occupied, Matlou was seen raising the substitutions board, which sparked reactions on social media. After the match, fans took to social media to joke about the incident. Some fans commented that Matlou appeared desperate to see Njabulo Blom leave the field.

Despite all the drama, the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder did not do much during the final minutes of the match. Matlou has played just six league matches this season.
