Such success at the top of World Rugby certainly pays.
So, each Springbok takes home a staggering total of over R118 000 (R118 197.93) per match, according to the latest figures published by Cash N Sport on Twitter. However, this excludes match bonuses for trophies such as the Nelson Mandela Plate, Freedom Cup, Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup.
Moreover, this is fully funded by SARU (The South African Rugby Union), according to SARugbyMag.
Meaning, despite SA Rugby currently open to investments, our national players are well taken care of independently (within SARU). These figures apply to players who play test matches. Meanwhile, non-playing squad members earn R59 539 per week.
SA RUGBY PLAYERS SALARIES
