Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member of Parliament Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has broken his silence, signalling his next career move after resigning as member of the Red Berets.

Ndlozi reveals plan for life after the EFF
Despite speculation that Ndlozi would be shifting from the EFF to the ANC or uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, Ndlozi revealed he had decided to take a different approach.
“I have taken the decision to step away completely from party politics. I am leaving party politics, I think I have made my contribution in that space.” – Ndlozi
Explaining that South Africa is not a “one-party state”, Ndlozi went on to say that there were many avenues in which to contribute to South Africa.
“Politics are a free activity in South Africa, and party politics are not the monopoly of making social contributions. I have decided to leave party politics and contribute in the first instance to the academy and in the second instance, I am very passionate about the upliftment of levels of discourse in the country,” Ndlozi told SABC News political editor Mzwandile Mbeje.

The former EFF spokesperson revealed that in addition to academics, he would be working in the civil society space.
“Most importantly, I think this terrain of struggle has been neglected over the years is the civil society space. That civil society space, I’m interested in it because it is where you are able to cultivate and agitate the notions of freedom. The liberation is about the people; people liberate themselves.” said Ndlozi.

“It’s time somebody did for the people of this country, what AfriForum is doing for the Afrikaners,” said Ndlozi.
EFF suspended spokesperson: Confirmed
Ndlozi revealed that his resignation from the EFF after over 10 years of membership followed his suspension from the party.
“I could attend the EFF conference, the NPA [National People’s Assembly] … I was suspended about six weeks before the conference, and the suspension was unconventional in that it didn’t rely on the code of conduct of the EFF … but largely, the suspension rested on two counts,” said Ndlozi.
The allegations included that Ndlozi had worked with Jacob Zuma’s MK Party, something he categorically denies.
