Former public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who recently dumped the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), says uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has approached her many times to join them. Could she be joining the Jacob Zuma-led party?

Mkhwebane confirmed her resignation from the Red Berets on Wednesday, 16 October. She joined the party after she was impeached in September 2023 and became the first head of a Chapter 9 institution to be axed.

Former EFF deputy president and co-founder Floyd Shivambu hailed the former public protector as a hard-working and skilled individual.

“Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane is one of the most disciplined, hard working and skilled professionals I know. She never sacrifices principle on the altar of convenience! Viva Black Excellence!” he posted on X after Mkhwebane announced her resignation.

Apart from that, Mkhwebane’s husband David Skosana is also an MK member of Parliament, making his National Assembly debut in the seventh administration. So, is there a chance that Mkhwebane could be unveiled as the newest member of the MK Party?
