Alberton murders: More criminality on our major roadways

The N3 has been targeted by other criminal enterprises within the past month or so, after widespread riots forced the closure of the major highway in July. It has since reopened to traffic, but lawlessness remains an issue in some parts. The authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution when travelling on this particular route.

“One man was critically injured, and three others were killed in a shooting last night on the N3 north near the N17 split in Alberton. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the local authorities and AfriForum first aiders already in attendance. Local authorities had already closed the highway and diverted traffic.”

“Medics assessed the men and found that the two inside the car had already succumbed to their numerous gunshot wounds. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. Unfortunately, one of the other critically injured men succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.” | ER24 statement
