The Limpopo pig farmers who allegedly murdered two women and fed them to pigs have been remanded in custody as their matter has been moved from the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court to the Polokwane Regional Court.

Zachariah Olivier, 60, Adriaan de Wet, 19, and William Musora, 45, returned to the Mankweng court on Tuesday following their first appearance on 30 August.

LIMPOPO PIG FARMERS REMANDED IN CUSTODY

Despite the lawyer for the accused number one (Olivier) opposing the postponement and arguing that there were no reasonable grounds to move the bail application, the matter was postponed to 2 October for a bail hearing.

Case background

The South African previously reported that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo, on 17 August, a Clover truck had dumped alleged expired or soon to be expired goods and the two women and a surviving victim trespassed into the farm to collect the goods.

NPA spokesperson in Limpopo, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said Musoro discovered the women’s bodies the next day and alerted Olivier and De Wet.

The Limpopo farmers then allegedly proceeded to remove the two deceased bodies from where they had died and dumped them into a pigsty.

“The pigs then started consuming one of the deceased’s bodies on the upper part. It is alleged that accused one [Olivier] cut the firearm used in the murder and disposed of it along the R80 road. The accused did not report the incident until 20 August,” Malabi-Dzhangi said.
