Labour department launching mobile employment centre
The Mobile Employment Centre is a crucial initiative by the Department of Employment and Labour launched at the Jobs Fair.
At the Jobs Fair in Malelane, Mpumalanga, this week, Minister of Employment and Labour, Thulas Nxesi will be launching a mobile employment centre.
The launch is scheduled for Thursday morning at Malelane’s Paradise Creek Lodge.
“At the Employers’ Breakfast Session, Minister Nxesi will address stakeholders in a keynote address. He will next speak to job seekers and exhibitors at the Jobs Fair before introducing the Department of Employment and Labour’s mobile employment center, according to a statement from the department.

What is the goal of the mobile employment centre?
The goal of the Jobs Fair is to find opportunities and solutions that will strengthen the department’s and its partners’ ability to carry out their duty of providing jobs for the unemployed, particularly the young of Mpumalanga.
The objective of the Jobs Fair is to provide a venue for employers and job seekers to network and engage, ensuring that the underemployed and unemployed have access to both employment and educational options.

Target audiences for the event include job searchers as well as employers, organizations, and government agencies who specialize in offering various services to young people.

Services that are going to be provided during the event
The department will provide the following services during the event:
- Registration of unemployed work seekers on the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database.
- Facilitating access to opportunities and employment counselling services to work seekers. Offer career information and study options from educational institutions within the province.
- Job hunting skills, interview preparation and work ethics.
