Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be far from finished in terms of finalising their squad for the 2024/25 season.

Chiefs have already signed three players and released five as it stands, with more changes in the offing.

So far, they have acquired the services of Bongani Sam from arch rivals Orlando Pirates. He joins after two loan spells at another Soweto giant in Moroka Swallows. He will be joined in defence by Rushwin Dortley from Cape Town Spurs, after a year of links to Chiefs. Amakhosi have also enlisted the services of goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, who has joined from TS Galaxy. He is set to compete with Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen for the number one jersey.

Three signings five departures so far at Chiefs

In the outgoings department, Chiefs have not been shy either. The likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Jasond Gonzalez. Last week a report came out saying the club is looking to loan out six players from the club. Although names were not divulged, sources speaking to Soccer Laduma have broken two. These being experienced centre-back Zitha Kwinika and attacking midifelder Sabelo Radebe,

“It is all coming in after the pre-season in Turkey. The technical team has identified the areas they want to strengthen and one of them is the central defence where they feel Zitha (Kwinika) should give way to younger defenders like Rushwin and Inacio. That’s the recommendation at the moment and we have to see what has to happen now that the team has returned from Turkey. But that’s on the table already that Zitha has to be loaned out at least for this season,” said one source.

A second source added it was not just Kwinika, but Sabelo Radebe who failed to convince the new Chiefs coach.

Kwinika and Radebe next?

“For now we know of Zitha (Kwinika) and Sabelo Radebe who the (Chiefs) technical team has indicated that they would be happy if they were loaned out for the coming season. For Zitha, there are defenders who are set to replace him and that’s why they want to loan him out. So, they are just looking at clubs who could be interested in him so that it can work out,” said the source.

Chiefs fans is loaning out Kwinika and Radebe the right move? Or should they be kept as squad members? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
