Grace Mugabe alleged to have beaten Joburg model with an extension cord
Bodyguards ‘stood and watched’ as Zim’s first lady attacked Gabrielle Engels
Her two sons have been causing chaos in Sandton recently, and they were evicted from their luxury accommodation last month for excessive partying and ill behaviour.
Now it seems that they may have taken etiquette classes from their mother, rather than just their tyrannical dad: A local model has accused Grace Mugabe of attacking her with an extension cord at The Capital Hotel.
Who is Gabrielle Engels?
Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party have since made a shocking attempt to make First Lady Mugabe the victim in all this, claiming that Gabrielle Engels was the aggressor. Only one of them left with gashes to the forehead and the scalp, though:
We can confirm if this is one of the perpetrators who attacked comrade Grace Mugabe. Be careful comrades. pic.twitter.com/3VCyfsY8vB

Who did Grace Mugabe attack?
The incident occurred at about 9pm on the Sunday, when Mrs Mugabe went to visit her two sons Robert Jnr and Chatunga. Gabrielle was in their room for what she described as a ‘chilled evening’ before Grace came furiously charging in.
Bodyguards for Zimbabwe’s First Lady are alleged to have just stood and watched as Grace and her accomplices beat up Miss Engels whilst the sons were whisked away by security.

Robert Mugabe’s sons
Grace Mugabe began kicking off when she saw her boys were ‘unsteady on their feet’ (IOL) – Given their recent troubles and the fact they are in Jozi to study, their lack of sobriety enraged their mother.
Speaking to TimesLive, Gaby – who was told to seek medical attention before even reporting the incident to the police – confirmed that she will be opening an assault case against Mrs Mugabe.
The Capital Hotel Group’s CEO only confirmed that ‘some guests were removed’ from the site due to the altercation, but described their ejection as non-violent.
