Pitso Mosimane could be the man who replaces Jose Riveiro at Orlando Pirates next season.

The 49-year-old Spaniard is currently in his last season with the Sea Robbers and is yet to renew his contract. The club has yet to mention if Riveiro will leave or stay at the end of the season.

A coach who might jump at the opportunity is none other than ‘Jingles’. Mosimane has won five league titles in South Africa and a CAF Champions League. The Buccaneers have not tasted league success in 12 years and despite battling Mamelodi Sundowns this season, it looks less likely that they will cut Masandawana’s 15 point gap.

Can Pitso transform Orlando Pirates?

Pirates have a winning team, which will make things easier if Mosimane joins the team. A good team doesn’t need a new coach to start from scratch and rebuild. ‘Jingles’ improved a good Al Ahly side and made it better so it’s likely he would do the same for Pirates.

The only thing that might stop Pitso from joining the Buccaneers is finance. Do the Sea Robbers have the money to pay one of Africa’s best coaches? Jingles doesn’t come for cheap and if Orlando Pirates want Pitso to replace Riveiro, they need to go all out.

Mosimane has coached in the Middle East for big cash. He and his team won’t come for cheap, that’s for sure.

Should Jingles replace Riveiro?
