
Severe thunderstorms to hit these THREE provinces
Residents in the provinces are urged to take precautions, as the thunderstorms could cause localised flooding, power surges and hail.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 2 weather warning for severe thunderstorms in Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The warning is valid from 12:00 on Monday until 22:00.

Severe thunderstorms for Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo
The weather warning key indicates there is a high likelihood of minor weather-based impacts. There is a line of slow-moving thunderstorms over southeastern Limpopo and the western parts of Mpumalanga.
“There is also a possibility of some small hail accompanying the thunderstorms,” said the weather service in a statement.

The potential impact the slow-moving severe storms include:
- Localised flooding of low-lying roads.
- Localised flooding of low-lying areas.
- Localised power surges due to excessive lightning.
- Heavy rainfall.
- Small hail.
- Poor driving conditions due to poor visibility.
