A man was freed from his car after his head became trapped between a tree and the car door following a car accident in KwaZulu-Natal
A man was freed from his vehicle when his head was stuck between a tree and the car door after he was involved in an accident on Saturday, 17 December in Buffelsdraai, KwaZulu-Natal.
Woman manages to escape after an accident
At approximately 07:49, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance.
This after the driver’s wife freed herself from the wreckage.
She climbed up a steep embankment, and sought assistance from a passing vehicle.
RUSA Medics and Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Here they discovered a red Hyundai i10 approximately 30 metres below the road.
The driver’s head was sandwiched between a tree and a door post, he was awake and alert.
The vehicle was carefully repositioned with the assistance of tow truck operators, allowing Medics to enter the vehicle and extricate the man.
The accident left the driver and his wife with minor injuries.
The driver allegedly failed to negotiate a sharp bend, causing his vehicle to leave the road and crash into a tree at the base of an embankment.
