Dali Mpofu quits EFF to join Zuma’s MK Party
Advocate Dali Mpofu joins a long list of prominent members who have quit the EFF and joined Zuma’s MK Party recently.
Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) chairperson Dali Mpofu has dumped the party and is set to join uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Mpofu is the latest politician to dump the Red Berets and join the Jacob Zuma-led party.
DALI MPOFU DUMPS EFF FOR MK PARTY
In an interview with the SABC, Mpofu said after a lot of soul searching he has taken a decision that he will be joining the MK Party.
“I’m joining MK because I believe that it is the vehicle through which we will achieve the much-needed black and progressive unity so I’m doing so not necessarily to reject any other organisation but at this point in time, in November 2024, I am of the view that the vehicle through which we should drive that unity is uMkhonto we Sizwe,” he said.
Further, Mpofu revealed that he has not informed Malema of his resignation but he has tried to reach out to him.
Mpofu is the latest in the long-list of prominent EFF members who have ditched the party and opted for Zuma’s the MK Party.
In October, impeached former public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane ditched the Red Berets saying she needed to rest and spend time with her family. However, she was later unveiled as MK Party convenor for her home province Mpumalanga.
In the same week, veteran actor Fana Mokoena also resigned as an EFF member of Parliament and it is not yet clear if he is still an EFF member.
