Zanzou threatens legal action against bouncers
Zanzou has fired the security personnel and condemned their actions after being filmed allegedly torturing patrons.
Pretoria’s nightclub, Zanzou, has addressed the viral videos circulating online, which allegedly show bouncers torturing patrons.
The incident is said to have occurred after the patrons were accused of stealing cell phones. The nightclub has stated that it intends to take legal action against the bouncers involved.

Zanzou has addressed the disturbing videos circulating online, which show patrons allegedly being tortured by bouncers.
The videos show patrons allegedly being coerced into humiliating sexual activities, with some appearing naked and forming a line. In addition, those who refuse to comply face severe consequences.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage, leading many to demand the closure of the Pretoria establishment.
MDN News posted a statement from the club on its @MDNnewss X account, where Zanzou management acknowledged being aware of the video showing security personnel using excessive violent force in response to cellphone theft incidents.
The management confirmed that the bouncers involved in the incident have been fired, and an investigation has been launched.
“At the time when management became aware of these practices, an immediate investigation was conducted, which resulted in the immediate halting of such as well as the dismissal of security personnel responsible,” reads part of the statement.
“In line with our commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment, we have since outsourced our security services to a fully registered and compliant company that operates strictly in accordance with South African laws and legislation.”
ZANZOU CONSIDERS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE BOUNCERS
They also stated that legal actions are being considered against the former security personnel responsible for the practices.
“Mr Herve has sought to unsuccessfully extort the business in lieu of withholding these videos from public release and has, as a result, formulated a dishonest narrative around the surrounding circumstances in an attempt to force the business to settle his demands. None of the videos in question are tied to patrons who failed to pay their bills.”
