The days are warmer, the seafood is at it’s freshest and your friends are coming over for dinner. Get the feast started in the tastiest way possible by presenting them with a delicious prawn cocktail. It’s an classic old-school dinner party starter from the 1950s and 1960s that still endures today because it’s so simple to make and is always enjoyed by your guests.

Prawn cocktail suggestions

You can use fresh or frozen prawns of any size and even use a combination of them for texture. The sauce is tangy, a bit sweet with a paprika and Tabasco kick which goes very well with the shellfish. Your cocktail goes very well with some fresh or warm, buttered bread as many starters are served. This recipe works the same with crab pieces or crayfish, depending on your taste and budget.
