When you walk around in your garden on a Saturday, you are either surrounded by the smell of your neighbour’s braai or your own. You take joy in listening to and seeing friends and family get together, doing what they do best, eat, drink and chat. There is really nothing like a proudly South African braai day and on Heritage Day, we suggest adding our National Braai Day rump steaks to the menu.

With a delicious homemade marinade, your steaks will be the hero of the party when they are on and off of the grill.

Braai Day rump steak suggestions

If you know how South African braais go, the braaimaster is in control of the cooking part. If that’s you, you’ll feel even happier when these come off of the grill. The soy or Worcestershire sauce adds some great seasoning, so be aware of how much salt is added. The best steak is cooked to a medium rare and with the right heat, you’ll have a beautiful brown colour on the outside contrasted with that juicy red meat in the middle.
