The founder and CEO of Spanx, Sarah Blakely has left many bosses inspired and employees jealous after she decided to gift her employees first-class plane tickets for anywhere in the world plus R146 000 each for spending money wherever they chose to go. Clips of the announcement have gone viral as many pray for similar employers.
Kind boss gifts workers with plane tickets and a large amount of spending
Imagine getting the gift of a flight to anywhere in the world as well as a huge amount of cash to spend wherever you choose to go? The employees who work for Sarah Blakely at Spanx need not imagine.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Spanx women’s clothing founder shared a clip of herself making a big announcement about a big deal that the company just landed and at the same time decided to surprise her employees with the exciting news that they will each be getting two first-class plane tickets and $10000 each (around R146 000) to spend wherever they chose to go.
“Behind the scenes @spanx telling the employees (some live and some on zoom) about the sale and partnership with Blackstone. It was an emotional announcement filled with happy tears acknowledging how far we’ve come.
“And then the tears really started to flow when I surprised everybody with 2 first class @delta plane tickets to anywhere in the world and $10,000 cash to spend on the trip.
“I really want every employee to celebrate this moment in their own way and create a memory that will last them a lifetime! Cheers to 21 years of magic and many more to come,” read the caption of the truly heartwarming post.
