SUSSEXES THOUGHT FROGMORE COTTAGE ‘WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR THEM’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been labelled “out of touch” for thinking that Frogmore Cottage will “always be there for them”. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were given Frogmore Cottage as a wedding gift from the late Queen Elizabeth II. The pair quit their duties as senior working members of the royal family in 2020.
Prince Harry and Meghan then moved to California, US where they started a new life with their two kids – Prince Archie (4) and Princess Lilibet (2).
Royal author Tim Quinn claims that Prince Harry was “burned” by his father – King Charles’ decision to evict him from the property.
“Harry and Meghan imagined Frogmore would always be there for them even if they came back to the UK for just a few weeks each year and even if they were no longer working royals,” Quinn told The Mirror.
“That assumption speaks volumes about just how out of touch with each other King Charles and his son had become,” Quinn continued.
PRINCE HARRY BECOMES US RESIDENT
This comes after Prince Harry listed the date of his Frogmore eviction as the official date of his US residency. Daily Mail stated that 29 June 2023 is the date Prince Harry put down for officially living in the US in new business documents.
According to the publication, the Duke of Sussex was “deeply wounded” by his father’s decision to have him and Meghan leave Frogmore Cottage.
Royal author Phil Dampier claims King Charles and Prince William knew the eviction had to be done to emphasise that the Sussexes were outside the firm.
“As always with Harry a lot can be read into his actions. Being ousted from Frogmore Cottage wounded him deeply,” said Dampier to The Sun.
“Charles and William knew it had to be done to emphasise Harry and Meghan were outside The Firm but he probably still thought he could keep a base here. Now he’s shown he accepts his life is in the US,” Dampier continued.
This comes after Prince Harry’s legal representative argued that the UK will always he his home in January 2022.
““The U.K. will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in. With the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk,” according to The Mirror.
