Cristiano Ronaldo may belong to one of the world’s most famous football clubs – Manchester United – but according to a quote that has gone viral from his “interview” with Piers Morgan, he “regrets” the move.
Ronaldo recently sat down with the outspoken media personality for a 90-minute exclusive that will air on Piers Morgan Uncensored on channel TalkTV this week.

Without the interview yet to air, Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan has been a trending topic on Twitter
In teaser clips from the bombshell interview, the Manchester United player talks about his unhappiness at the English Premier League club. He also responds to criticism by coach Erik ten Hag and former colleague Wayne Rooney.

But there have also been several fake quotes – credited to Ronaldo – which have gone viral.
And one includes the acclaimed athlete “regretting” leaving his previous Spanish club; Real Madrid.
A Twitter account with the handle “@theMadridlZone” shared a tweet of a “quote” from the star which read: “Leaving R. Madrid? Biggest regret of my career. I had respect there, I had love there. If I went back in time, I would play there for free. I should never have left the biggest club in the world. They treated me like a king.”
The tweet has over 60 000 likes and 8000 retweets.
But Piers Morgan claims the quote is “fake”. He tweeted in response: “Ronaldo doesn’t say this”.
The English icon also called on Twitter CEO Elon Musk to clear up the deceitful tweet. He added: “I hope @elonmusk sorts out this kind of crap too”.
