After thumping the Soweto giants 4-1 at Loftus Versfeld, Mamelodi Sundowns went nine points clear of Orlando Pirates.

Deon Kavendji pulled one back for Orlando Pirates in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, the Brazilian star netted his second goal, putting the game out of reach for Orlando Pirates.
Mamelodi Sundowns sealed the win in the 78th minute thanks to Teboho Mokoena’s shot. The top-of-the-table clash at Loftus Versfeld was marred by the pitch condition, which both clubs noted.
This was Orlando Pirates’ third defeat in the league this season and their second result on the road.
The Soweto giants are on 33 points after 14 games. However, they also have a game in hand against troubled Royal AM.
