Springbok Manie Libbok has seemingly sent a defiant message to his critics after his performance at the club; Stormers, had fans up in arms.

The flyhalf was denied a crucial try in a nail-biting 21-15 loss against the Sharks on Saturday, 30 November.

Libbok was particularly criticised on social media for several missed kicks and the slip of the ball, which dramatically occurred in the final minutes on the clock.

MANIE LIBBOK SENDS MESSAGE TO CRITICS?

In a Facebook post on Saturday – just hours before the Stormers clash against the Sharks – Manie Libbok reposted a clip by Vodacom about his return to the club. This followed his stint in the Springboks test series.

The post read: “All eyes on Magic Manie. Stormers Faithful, your maestro is back in action. Sit back and enjoy the game”.

Libbok captioned the clip: “Story not done yet.”

While the 27-year-old’s fans encouraged him to keep going after the loss, Stormers fans on social media were not so empathetic.

Like Manie Libbok, who substituted him after a nasty concussion, Springbok newbie Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu also made a comeback after suffering a knee injury earlier this year.

Libbok’s last-minute try was dramatically disallowed by the TMO after he was spotted with a knock-on.

‘UNLUCKY’, SAYS STORMERS COACH

Like many fans, Stormers coach John Dobson was also disappointed in the Manie Libbok’s try being overruled.

He said in a post-match press conference: “It was probably the difference in the end.

“It makes me emotional. When Manie went over, we thought this was what we were fighting for, and that’s what we prided ourselves on as the Stormers. But we have to go back and look for something, but you can’t describe the emotions.

“Listen, I don’t want to sound arrogant, but we deserved to win this game, and you have to take your chances. Looking back, we’re probably unlucky to have lost this game.”
