Celebrated singer Zonke Dikana has been making headlines after her alleged booking fee was revealed.

With an illustrious career spanning years, she has quickly become one of the most celebrated artists in South Africa.

NOTA BALOYI EXPLAINS ZONKE DIKANA’S HIGH BOOKING FEE

She has headlined several shows worldwide and shared the stage with some of the industry’s biggest acts.

A few weeks ago, she made headlines after DJ Thuli Phongolo revealed online that she had struggled to book the Zonke Dikana for her birthday.

Her post left many to guess, given that she had booked her ex-boyfriend for her last birthday party. DJ Maphorisa’s booking fee is said to be R350 000, so many were left to guess Dikana’s booking fee.

However, the rumour mill later revealed that she costs around R400 000 to book. Despite her booking fee thrusting her into the top trends, Zonke Dikana has yet to address the figure.

Her booking fee has undoubtedly divided social media, with many flooding their feeds with their two cents.

Controversial music executive Nota Baloyi was one of the celebrities who weighed in on the matter. He said the booking fee is meant to scare promoters away.

Nota Baloyi made these remarks during his recent podcast session with DJ Sbu. He noted that the singer usually charges R400 000 because she wants to chase away the person trying to book her.

He said she doesn’t necessarily want that amount; instead, it’s just a polite gesture to say, ‘No.’

Nota Baloyi said, “When Zonke says she wants R400k for a booking, she doesn’t really want the R400k — it’s her way of saying ‘go away.’ And when someone actually says here’s the money you want, she gets disappointed.”

Fans were quick to flood online with their two cents against his remarks. Some reminded Nota to treat Dikana with the respect she deserves.

Others have made it known that she is one of the best, and her booking fee reflects her brand.

MAKING HEADLINES

After all, despite keeping her private life under wraps, Zonke Dikana has had her fair share of bad headlines.

Despite being lauded as one of the richest musicians in South Africa, she once made headlines with her tax woes.

The rumour mill said she owed the taxman R18 million in unpaid taxes. However, her team noted the debt but made it known that a filing error had to be addressed.
