He also reportedly paid her R56k for her sample and credited her in the song credits. He later also sent her an iPhone 12 which she posted about on her social media pages.

She was later accused of bragging about her success to the less fortunate — something she has now apologised for:

“I’ve seen your comments lately, you guys saying I am bragging too much, I’m not humble and all those things. I wanna start by thanking you all for the support you gave me from the beginning. Thank you, guys for being there for me all along.

“And if you felt like you were offended by the things I have been posting, then I am sorry about that. I didn’t mean to brag or something, it was just content. I’m sorry,” she wrote.

In the comment section, many assured Naledi that she has nothing to apologise for. According to them, she has every right to bask in her success.

“Never apologise for being your true authentic self! Your success will make certain people feel uncomfortable and they’ll try to dim your light to humble you by saying things like you’re doing too much. Do MORE! SHINE SHINE SHINE,” on person wrote.
