Former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego ‘Killer’ Mphela is a proud father after one of his daughters bagged four academic awards – certificates.
Thanks to his illustrious career, capped with moments of brilliance and silverware, Katlego Mphela is considered one of the best to have come from South Africa.
KATLEGO MPHELA CELEBRATES DAUGHTER’S ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
The former Mamelodi Sundowns often trends whenever he posts or gets posted. Katlego Mphela is topping trends after he took to Instagram Stories to celebrate his daughter’s academic achievements.
The former footballer shared a photo with his daughter, who was flaunting his accomplishments. He captioned the post, “Congratulations, baby girl.”
Katlego Mphela’s daughter’s grade and the four awards she scooped are little known. However, the now-deleted post has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped online.
This is not the first time he has shared such heartwarming posts.
Despite hardly posting online, he often shares his priceless moments with his family, whom he has kept away from the spotlight.
This is not the first time Katlego Mphela has made headlines. In 2023, he set social media abuzz by revealing that he had retired from the beautiful game and was now a car salesman.
The British-born former footballer took to his Instagram on 10 November 2023 to share his new job position.
At the time, Katlego Mphela revealed he was a car salesman at Lindsay Saker VW Midrand, Gauteng.
“For any brand new VW Cars, please contact me, and I will be happy to assist. Numbers on the flyer,” Mphela wrote.
Earlier this year, Sunday World reported in July that he dumped the dealership, which gave him a lifeline to get his life back on track.
The publication revealed that Katlego Mphela is now the ambassador of the sports betting company Betway.
CAREER
He had his shot to fame with Jomo Cosmos. However, against the backdrop of his newfound fame, thanks to his flair, he joined RC Strasbourg Alsace and, later, Stade de Reims.
In 2006, he returned to South Africa after joining the Pretoria–based side of SuperSport United. However, he later switched the floor to their arch-rival, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The striker has also had stints with the Glamour Boys, Kaizer Chiefs, in 2014.
Katlego Mphela also starred for Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize’s former club, Royal Eagles – which she co-owned with her estranged husband, Sbu Mpisane.
