Big Brother Mzansi’s Lexi van Niekerk (Lexi Van) has confirmed her split from season one winner Mandla Hlatshwayo after more than a decade of their relationship.
The former couple – who started dating in 2014 – have two young sons together.
The reality TV stars are known for their infamous shower scene and Mzansi Magic spin-off about their lives together.
BIG BROTHER MZANZI’S LEXI VAN CONFIRMS SPLIT
On her X app, Lexi Van confirmed the sad news that she had split from Mandla Hlatshwayo, her longtime partner and baby daddy.
The outspoken influencer said of the Big Brother Mzansi S1 winner, “I think I’ll always love my ex.”
When one follower asked Lexi if she was “in love” with Mandla, Lexi responded, “Nope.”
She did, however, like a tweet that read: “Your love story was beautiful. I’m still Mandlexi and Lexified though. Wish you both well. May you find peace and healing, Lexi”.
Earlier this month, Lexi Van fuelled speculation that her relationship with her reality TV boyfriend had run its course.
She tweeted from her account: “FINALLY walking away from something that you THOUGHT would work out. Investing every ounce of self, hope, and belief, and then getting disrespected, lied to, gaslit, and betrayed, is prob the most f**ked up thing I’ve endured in a long while. But let me gather my crazy self and heal”.

In another, she added: “574 weeks. I’m done!”
According to fan speculation, the couple had a heated spat during an Instagram Live. Lexi allegedly accused Mandla of not supporting the family financially.

More than a decade after winning Big Brother Mzansi S1, Mandla Hlatswayo has kept a low profile.
The former spaza shop owner used his prize money to purchase a house for his family of four. However, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Mandla faced a financial setback and had to sell his home.
According to Sunday World, he now runs a business buying, fixing, and selling second-hand cars.
The full-time father added: “I do aspire to be in the media space, but it was never part of the plan. As much as I don’t want to be out there in public, I have to do anything to make sure my kids get everything that they need.”
