Actress Asavela Mngqithi is trending after she opened up about her private life, which she has kept under wraps.

With an illustrious career spanning years, she has wowed many with her unmatched acting flair and has starred in several big-budget productions, including Isibaya.

Her big wins on small screens have seen her being one of the most followed actresses in South Africa. Thanks to her huge social media following, she often trends whenever she posts or gets posted.

The former Isibaya actress is trending after she made it known that she will be bouncing back on the small screen after going awol after she tied the knot with celebrated businessman Vuyisa Mqokiyana.

She made it known that the two-year break was to focus on raising her daughter. The actress said she would return to small screens and have someone she trusts to care for her daughter.

Asavela Mngqithi also revealed how motherhood has reshaped her approach to acting. “I want to be discerning in what I take on, especially because I have someone looking up to me.

“I won’t take on aggressive roles unless they serve a purpose—whether to drive a story or make an impact. I believe South Africa needs more educational productions,” the actress told IOL.

However, during her interview with ZiMoja, she also confirmed her divorce. “I can’t paint all the guys with the same brush. I would definitely get married again,” she said.

Asavela Mngqithi also downplayed rumours that she doesn’t get along with her ex-husband.

“We have a beautiful relationship. He is a good father to his children, and nothing has changed besides that we are no longer together. We are both there for our kid,” she added.

MAKING HEADLINES WITH CRYPTIC POSTS

This is the first time she has opened up about her divorce, which made headlines in September last year.

The actress set social media abuzz after she fueled the rumours with a series of photos dressed in black in front of the KwaZulu-Natal High Court.

She captioned the post, “Woof, woof. It has been lovely enkosi” (thank you). Mngqithi also shared a screenshot conversation which read: “Asime dali (let’s stop darling). Thanks, nge (for) experience”.

Last year, in August, X user @Mlu__N7 reported that Vuyisa Mqokiyana had allegedly cheated on Mngqithi, who filed for divorce.

However, she blueticked the reports then, leaving many to guess.

In 2022, Asavela Mngqithi confirmed that she was officially married. She posted online, “I officially became Mrs Mqokiyana. Emzini bathe ndingu kwande umdeni, uthando ne Mpilo.”

The actress also shared photos of her traditional wedding ceremony in the Eastern Cape.
