The inaugural Milk + Cookies Music Week in South Africa promises to be a thrilling celebration of music, art, culture, and innovation.
From 3 to the 12 of January, this event will showcase top international and local talent. It will also set the stage for an unforgettable experience in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
MILK + COOKIES MUSIC WEEK SOUTH AFRICA
With Grammy-winning artist Kaytranada headlining both city festivals, the event will surely deliver something for everyone.
The action begins in Cape Town, where the festival kicks off on 3 January. The city will host a wide variety of events. The fun starts with Music Tech House Presents: Dot Connector at the Homecoming Theatre.
Industry experts, creatives, and fans will gather for insightful panels discussing the intersection of music, technology, and culture, according to AMAKA.
“This is where the future of music is born,” says event curator, Leila Mansoor. “It’s not just about performances but shaping the next wave of the music scene.”
MILK + COOKIES IN CAPE TOWN
Later that evening, the Out The Oven Merch Pop-Up Party at Broke KlubHouse will serve up exclusive merchandise. Surprise guests will surely add to the excitement.
On 4 January, Cape Town will host the Brunch Sessions at Therapy. This is a chic event where industry leaders can network while enjoying gourmet dishes and cocktails, according to GQ South Africa.
The day continues with the Milky Paloma Yacht Party at The Mirage, offering a private sunset cruise for a select group of partygoers. As the sun sets over the ocean, beats from local DJs will keep the energy high.
MILK + COOKIES AND LOCAL ACTS
The night will culminate with PRE KAY at TEXAS. This will be an explosive lead-up to Kaytranada’s highly anticipated main stage performance on 5 January at Milk + Cookies Festival at The Ostrich.
This day-long celebration will feature music from top-tier international and local acts such as DJ Kent, Zakes Bantwini, and The Workaholics.
AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE
A blend of food trucks, art installations, and unforgettable performances will make this festival a highlight of the season.
Finally, M+C Afters w/ Kaytranada at Old Biscuit Mill will offer fans an exclusive after-hours experience from the Canadian DJ/producer himself.
“Expect an intimate set that brings the crowd together for an unforgettable experience,” says Kaytranada.
JOHANNESBURG SET TO SHINE
The festivities will move to Johannesburg from 9 to 12 of January. The city will see a refined but equally exciting lineup.
The Royale Mixer on 9 January promises a stylish start with its ‘Mogul Dinner’ for key players in music, fashion, and art.
An intimate gathering featuring fine dining and live DJ performances will also set a sophisticated tone for the weekend ahead.
On 10 January, Johannesburg’s Pre-Kay Vinyl Party at Neighborhood will bring vinyl enthusiasts together to enjoy rare grooves and celebrate Milk + Cookies culture.
MILK + COOKIES MAIN EVENT
The main event, however, is the Milk + Cookies Festival on 11 January at Huddle Park.
Kaytranada will take the stage alongside an exciting roster of local talent including DJ Lag, Muzi, and Mamthug, according to IQ Magazine.
The festival promises a mix of good music, great vibes, and an inclusive atmosphere for all.
After the festival, fans can continue the party at M+C Afters w/ Kaytranada at Truth, one of Joburg’s most iconic nightlife venues.
The night will be filled with an intimate set by the headliner, keeping the energy alive until the early hours.
COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY
The final event, Music Tech House Presents: Dot Connector, will close the Johannesburg chapter with another thought-provoking panel session. This time, it will take place at Mamakashaka and Friends.
