Mike Myers channels Dr. Evil as Elon Musk on SNL
Mike Myers recently reprised his role as Elon Musk on Saturday Night Live (SNL), delivering a hilarious performance.

Mike Myers, the comedic genius behind Austin Powers, recently reprised his role as Elon Musk on Saturday Night Live (SNL).
The skit poked fun at the tech mogul’s alleged White House run-ins. It also featured a cheeky Dr. Evil reference that left audiences in stitches, according to CNN.
MIKE MYERS AS ELON MUSK
The sketch opens with James Austin as Donald Trump and Marcel Hernandez as Marco Rubio trading blows about Musk’s influence.
Then, Myers makes his grand entrance as Musk.
Rubio exclaimed, “I can’t believe this is the individual you’ve granted access to the whole government. He’s not elected!”
THE ELON MUSK SKIT
The skit brilliantly lampoons the concerns surrounding Musk’s sway in political circles, according to People. As Trump intervened, Myers, as Musk, launched into a voiceover.
“Phase one of my strategy is accomplished: win over the president and seize control of the media.” In a nod to his iconic character, he added, “But, was this position a poor choice?
Many people seem to really dislike me; for instance, Tesla shares are plummeting, and my personal fortune just fell by $100 billion.” Myers then placed his pinky to his lips, imitating Dr. Evil.
SNL TAKES A SHOT AT TRUMP
The episode didn’t just target Elon Musk. SNL took aim at Trump’s recent address to Congress, according to Deadline.
The sketch cleverly weaved in current events. This included Trump’s comparisons of himself to George Washington. There was also his criticism of Joe Biden‘s policies.
“Many have asserted the first of our … is most successful in the history of our nation,” Austin’s Trump declared.
The show didn’t hold back, highlighting the absurdity of some political statements.
AMERICAN POLITICS
While the jokes are rooted in American politics, the themes resonate globally. South Africans understand political theatre and the influence of powerful figures.
Elon Musk, with his South African roots, is a figure of both pride and controversy. Seeing Myers skewer him with a Dr. Evil twist is pure comedic gold.
Mike Myers’ return to SNL reminded everyone of his comedic talent. His portrayal of Musk was spot-on. The Dr. Evil reference was the cherry on top.
It’s a must-watch for anyone who enjoys sharp political satire and a good laugh.
