‘Guns & greed’: Inside Lerato’s husband Thami Ndlala’s hotel deal
Thami Ndlala is counter-suing for R3 million after he was slapped with a lawsuit for breaching an agreement in the hotel deal
The deal between Lerato Kganyago’s husband Thami Ndlala and the sellers of 12 Hillel Villa and Spa has turned very sour.
According to reports by the Daily Sun, the businessman opened a case against one of the estate planners, John Assor, who allegedly pointed a gun at him. In addition, Ndlala is counter-suing for R3 million.
NDLALA EXPECTED TO PAY R2 MILLION MORE
The publication reports that Ndlala paid R8 million for the property, but he is allegedly in breach of contract after he reportedly evicted occupants at the hotel. Court papers reveal that he could only evict occupants once he paid the remaining R2 million for goods and furniture.
However, Ndlala reportedly told the publication that he will not be paying for goods and furniture he has not seen, although admitting that he is aware of the R2 million agreement.
The businessman also accused the sellers of greed, saying they are taking advantage of his kindness.

CRIMINAL CHARGES AND LAWSUITS
After purchasing the hotel, Ndlala has allegedly not been able to do business in the property due to a lawsuit he was reportedly slapped with. As a result, he is reportedly counter-suing for R3 million. He also reportedly opened a case against Assor for allegedly pointing a firearm at him, however, the case was thrown out.
On Sunday 17 July, City Press reported that a source had claimed Ndlala co-owns the boutique hotel with two other businesspeople who are said to be silent partners.
The publication added that the 12 on Hillel Villa and Spa has one director, listed as Njabulo Goodwill Ndlala and the hotel was registered on May 13 last year, a year before Lerato announced herself as its new owner on Valentine’s Day this year.
“That Valentine’s Day gift noise that she made was just a publicity stunt. Thami did not buy her that hotel. She just featured as a face and used the opportunity because her fans were looking forward to her gift for this year since Thami booked out a stadium for her last year,” the source was quoted as saying.
In response to these claims, the Metro FM presenter and her husband refuted them with Ndlala emphasising the hotel was a gift for his wife.
