Makhadzi gets support from industry friends after being given a deadline to apologise
Industry professionals have backed singer Makhadzi as she battles record company Open Mic Productions over contractual issues.

It is clear that the majority of creatives, whether actors or musicians, sympathise with Makhadzi while the record label waits for her to back off the charges she made against them.

Makhadzi supported
One of the people that supported her on social media was local artist, Moonchild Sanelly.
Writing on Twitter, she showed Makhadzi some love and support:
“Sending my love to Makhadzi. You’ve got this boo. They cleaned out my millions in SA & I just bought a house having started from scratch again. You’re the money! Always remember that! You’ll be ok baby; it’s gonna be a chapter in your best-selling book of life. Let them laugh.”
Actress Nambitha Mpumlwana was another one of Makhadzi’s supporters.
She made a point of highlighting her bravery in defending her rights and expressed her admiration for her.

Godrich Gardee supports Makhadzi
Godrich Gardee, a former EFF secretary-general and attorney, has promised to support local artist Makhadzi in her legal dispute with record label, Open Mic Productions.
She said last week that she was leaving the company to seek other career avenues and opportunities.
Godrich Gardee volunteered to help as the rivalry became the topic of conversation at the dinner table.
Soon after being admitted as a high court attorney in 2021, Gardee founded a legal company.
Gardee should resist injustice, stated EFF leader Julius Malema during a celebratory meal at the time.
The new administration of Makhadzi recently said that it was looking into legal measures to settle the conflict.
Makhadzi’s industry peers, including Moonchild and Nambitha Mpumlwana, have come together in support of her ongoing legal dispute with record label Open Mic Productions over contractual matters.
Since it seems that Gardee Godrich Attorneys would back the singer in her legal dispute with Open Mic Productions, the artist’s pleadings have apparently struck gold.
The end of a bad relationship
In a statement, Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, also known as Makhadzi, announced that her partnership with Open Mic Productions will terminate on May 2, 2023.
She said in a series of tweets a few days later that the record label had been treating her unfairly like a slave.

The Ma Yellowbone singer is still signed to the label, according to Nkateko Maluleke, a spokeswoman for Open Mic, who spoke to the Sunday World.
The record business provided proof of the payments they had sent to the hitmaker through their attorneys in response to Makhadzi’s claims that she hadn’t gotten anything for the preceding several years.
According to IOL’s data, Open Mic made many payments totalling R7 956 084.86 and an extra R300,000.
