‘No one works harder than Woolies: SA reacts to cake slices
‘You spoke, we listened’, said Woolies on social media after South Africans thanked the retailer for cake slices.

Popular retailer Woolworths aka Woolies have confirmed they are now selling their popular cakes by the slice as requested by South Africans.

WOOLIES: ‘YOU SPOKE’
Social media user @andikho_ryt took to X (formerly known as Twitter) a week ago to request Woolies to sell cakes by the slice for customers who live alone.
“Dear @WOOLWORTHS_SA, may you please look into selling cake slices or even half cakes for us who stay alone,” he tweeted.
A week later, a Woolworths customer @SuvaniaS gave an update with a picture of cake slices on the shelf and thanked the retailer for listening.
“Besties, no one works harder than Woolies. Look what I saw today at the shops: individual cake slices,” she tweeted.
IOL reports that the different cake flavours: rainbow, chocolate caramel and carrot cake slices are now sold for R39.99 each.
Woolworths also responded: “You spoke, and we listened… 😏 Enjoy it!“
