Nightbirde, who wowed with her ‘America’s Got Talent’ performance, died at 31. Here are five things to know about the singer/ songwriter.

Former America’s Got Talent contestant Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski tragically passed away at the age of 31 on Monday 21 February after a long battle with cancer. 

According to TMZ, a portion of her family’s statement read: “Her lasting legacy will be the gift of hope she communicated through music and the strength she found in Jesus”.

1. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Speaking to The News & Advance in 2012, Nightbirde said she started her songwriting journey at the age of six when she was helped her mother write a Christmas song for a church production. 

“I think she was just being silly in asking me for help, but I sang her a couple of lines in the places where she was stuck and she actually put them in the song.”

She released her first EP in 2012, titled Lines
