A litter of puppies were rescued by emergency services when they fell into a storm water drain shortly after they were born on Sunday, 16 January.

Litter of puppies fall into storm drain
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members rescued the litter of puppies on Estuary Drive in Riverview, KwaZulu-Natal.
At approximately 17:39, the dog’s owner contacted Reaction Unit South Africa after their dog gave birth.
Her litter fell approximately 2 metres into the drain.
Officers removed the cover, descended the shaft, and rescued five puppies.
The pups were thankfully found unharmed.
