As I write this (10pm CA time on election night) Obama flipped seven states from red to blue compared to the 2004 election ... and he could potentially get another three (North Carolina, Indiana, and Montana) before the night is over. Perhaps not a 'landslide', but certainly a decisive victory. A relatively large margin of victory across many states also helped calm my nerves about the voting problems being reported about throughout the day.

This is truly a historic moment -- I am excited! If you watched President-Elect Obama's victory speech you saw a reserved and even solemn person talk about how much work there is to do. He is quite right ... this was really just the first step.

There *is *a lot work to do -- and I am more excited than I've been in a long time to help contribute to getting that work done.

John McCain's concession speech was gracious and seemed like the McCain I remember. He should have run his campaign the way he wanted to ... I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that he regrets hiring the Rove-Bush slimeballs to run his campaign. Well, tough beans -- you did -- and you're going to have to live with it.
