‘Uzalo’ lifts lid on actor Vuyo Dabula’s ‘unexpected’ departure
SABC1 soapie ‘Uzalo’ on Tuesday discussed talented actor Vuyo Dabula’s departure and his role as Bentley Majozi.
Stained Glass TV, who are the producers of South Africa’s most-watched TV show Uzalo reveal why fan-favourite actor Vuyo Dabula’s criminal character Bentley Majozi exited the show.

VUYO DABULA AS BENTLEY MAJOZI
Uzalo fans were left devastated and perplexed when the fan-favourite actor Vuyo Dabula’s character Bentley Majozi got killed after appearing on the show for a week.
On the show, Dabula’s character got killed and Detective Mondli (Thembinkosi Thwala) is busy investigating his murder.
Viewers assumed the former Generations: The Legacy actor got fired after he revealed on Thursday, 28 September on his Instagram account that Uzalo deleted his character, Bentley Majozi’s post on their Instagram.
“They @uzalo_sabc1 seem to have removed that new character post … weird…but it’s all good.”
“I come in peace as always, much love to you king , chips are down you’re all alone battered and too many Ls, keep going soldier, misunderstood n hated for what, love yourself nontheless no matter what.”
“Bentley forever, Vuyo Dabula forever. You forever king if you relate! Love you, that’s all you got WTF keep walking. It is well you are so amazing,” said Dabula.
TshisaLIVE reported the next day that Dabula and Uzalo have made a pact and cleared the misunderstanding.
“We are here. I had an amicable conversation with @uzalo_sabc1 about the removal of the new character post, now the fact that they called me to assure me that there is no issue and offering an explanation says a lot about the spirit of this production,” said Dabula.

‘UZALO’ EXPLAINS ACTOR’S DEPARTURE
Uzalo publicist Nomfundo Zondi revealed to The South African on Tuesday, 24 October that the actor Vuyo Dabula was always cast for a short role.
Zondi rubbished reports that Dabula’s contract was cut short and added that he’s got a great relationship with Stained Glass TV, who are producers of the SABC1 soapie.
“Vuyo’s storyline was crafted to add drama and excitement to the storyline as we end off season nine. His story arc was designed to be brief but impactful.”
“Stained Glass productions has a great relationship with Vuyo. We are so honoured to have worked with one of South Africa’s greatest talents.”
Fan-favourite actors Wiseman Mncube, who portray the roles of Sibonelo and Nkanyiso Mchunu, who portrays the role of Wizard have also exited the show.
The duo joined Rythm World Production’s latest telenovela, My Brother’s Keeper which premiered on Monday, 23 October on Mzansi Magic.
